EMDR Therapy
EMDR Therapy
A recognised, evidence-based approach to processing difficult experiences, trauma, anxiety, phobias, and more.
What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy approach developed in the late 1980s and now recognised by the WHO and NHS as an effective treatment for trauma and PTSD. It works by helping the brain reprocess distressing memories that have become 'stuck', so they lose their emotional charge.
Unlike talk therapy, EMDR does not require you to describe your experiences in detail. Instead, it uses bilateral stimulation, typically guided eye movements, while you hold a distressing memory in mind. This process allows the brain to integrate the memory in a healthier way.
How does a session work?
01
Assessment
We begin by understanding your history, your goals, and what you would like to work on. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready for.
02
Stabilisation
Before processing begins, we build inner resources: grounding techniques, breathing and calming tools, so you feel safe and supported throughout.
03
Processing
Using bilateral stimulation (eye movements or tapping), we work on specific memories or experiences. You remain in control at all times.
04
Integration
After each session, we check in on how you feel and consolidate what has shifted. Change often continues between sessions.
Who can EMDR help?
EMDR is effective for a wide range of difficulties, including:
EMDR for children and teenagers
EMDR can be adapted for younger clients. I use art therapy alongside EMDR to offer an approach that respects how children and teenagers naturally express themselves, through images, stories, and metaphors, when words are hard to find.

Yes. Research shows that EMDR is just as effective online as in person. I work primarily online, which means you can access therapy from wherever you are, whether you live in France, abroad, or are frequently on the move. Sessions take place by video in a secure, confidential setting.
