EMDR Therapy & Art Therapy
My approach
An integrative, body-centred practice that combines EMDR, art therapy, and somatic awareness, adapted to each person's history and pace.
My work is rooted in the belief that healing is not only cognitive, it also happens through the body, through images, through breath, and through the felt sense of safety. I draw on several complementary approaches to offer a space that is both rigorous and deeply human.
Understand
We begin by exploring your history, your current difficulties, and what you are hoping for. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready for. This phase is about building trust and a shared understanding of what we will work on together.
Stabilise
Before any deeper processing, we build inner resources, grounding techniques, breathing practices, and calming tools. This ensures you feel safe and supported throughout the work, and that you have tools to use between sessions.
Process
Using EMDR and, where appropriate, art therapy, we work on the specific memories, beliefs, or experiences that are at the root of your difficulties. You remain in control at all times, and we move at your pace.
Integrate
After each session, we consolidate what has shifted. Change often continues between sessions as the brain continues to process. We track progress together and adjust the work as needed.
What I draw on
My practice is integrative, I combine approaches based on what each person needs.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, a WHO-recognised approach for trauma, anxiety, and distressing memories. Works at a deeper level than talk therapy alone.
Art therapy
Using image, drawing, and creative expression to access what is difficult to put into words. Particularly effective with children, teenagers, and anyone who finds verbal processing limiting.
Breathwork & somatic awareness
Techniques drawn from yin yoga and restorative yoga to support nervous system regulation and reconnection to the body. Integrated into sessions as needed.
A safe, non-judgmental space
I work with adults, teenagers, and children from all backgrounds. My practice is inclusive and respectful of each person's identity, history, and pace. I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is part of what heals.
My practice is LGBTQIA+ inclusive.
